The “World of Dance” season finale came down to the wire. 14-year-old Junior Division champion Eva Igo had the score to beat when Upper Division winners Les Twins took to the stage, and the final result came down to mere tenths of a point. “We’re going to lock in our scores for the last time,” said judge Jennifer Lopez at the end of Les Twins’ performance. “It’s tough,” noted Derek Hough as he, Lopez, and Ne-Yo entered the decisive marks that would determine the winner.
Les Twins had received an average score of 93 for their first routine. Then the numbers came in for their second performance: 94 from Ne-Yo, 97 from Lopez (her highest score of the night), and 93 from Hough. That gave the duo an average of 94.7 for their second dance. But the scores for all the contestants were so close that you could see no one could quite do the math in their heads until host Jenna Dewan Tatum put the final numbers on the board: Les Twins had won with an average score of 93.8, just two-tenths of a point ahead of Igo with 93.6.
What did you think of the “World of Dance” finale? Were Les Twins were really the best dancers of the season, or should the judges have given the title to Igo or Swing Latino? Vote in our poll below, and discuss this nail-biting moment below in the comments.
