Yoli Mayor performs on ‘America’s Got Talent’ 2017 live show: Singer earns mixed reviews from judges [WATCH]

“Talent like this can’t be thrown away,” declared Simon Cowell after singer Yoli Mayor performed Tuesday night on the first live show of “America’s Got Talent” 2017. Mayor earned rave reviews from Cowell and Heidi Klum on NBC’s long-running reality TV show, however Mel B was unimpressed with her rendition of Rag’n’Bone Man‘s “Human,” which created a rift at the judges’ table. “Yoli, I absolutely adore you as a person and you have an incredible, powerful voice,” Mel B began her negative critique. “For me tonight, there was something off. I don’t know if it was the song choice, I don’t know if you were super nervous, but I didn’t see you, and that’s what I love about you. Something was missing and I don’t know what that is. That’s for you to figure out. And I hope people vote for you because you are an amazing singer. But I’m a bit sad.”

Klum immediately chimed in, “I’m not sad at all! I love you and I thought you were fantastic. You know how you sang you’re only human? You are not only human — you are super-human. I think that you have one of the best voices this year on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and I think that you will make it all the way to the live shows.”

Cowell agreed with Klum, admitting, “I love this girl. I think you’ve got an amazing voice. I don’t think you know how good you are. I think what Mel didn’t connect to tonight is everything was over-produced. You were part of a much bigger production and therefore we lost that rawness we love about you.”
