2018 Billboard Music Awards winners: Full list of BBMAs winners and nominees

The 2018 Billboard Music Awards were presented on Sunday night, May 20, during a live telecast on NBC, though the winners in most of the 57 total categories were announced earlier in the day. These kudos are presented in dozens of categories that honor artists for commercial achievements as measured by the same factors that determine the Billboard charts: record sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social engagement. The eligibility period for these prizes was April 8, 2017, through March 31, 2018. Scroll down for the complete list of winners in all categories.

There was a three-way tie for the most nominations this year: Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran all picked up 15 nominations apiece, including Top Artist of the Year, where they faced the defending champion, Drake, and two-time past winner Taylor Swift. So it goes without saying that it was a successful year for all five musicians.

Lamar had the number-one album of 2017 (“Damn”) according to Billboard’s year-end charts, and he also had one of the biggest singles of the year with “Humble.” Mars had a number-one hit in “That’s What I Like” and another top-five single with “Finesse” featuring Cardi B.

Swift sold more than 1.2 million copies of her latest album, “Reputation,” in its first week alone, which made it the top-selling album of 2017. And she topped the Hot 100 singles chart with “Look What You Made Me Do.” Sheeran made history with “Shape of You,” which spent 12 weeks at number-one and then broke the record for the longest-running song in the top-10 (33 weeks).

And Drake topped the albums chart in 2017 with his new album “More Life,” followed by a pair of number-one singles that have dominated the Hot 100 in the first half of 2018: “God’s Plan” and “Nice for What.”
