Elisabeth Moss will be double-fisting trophies again. Not only is the cast of “The Handmaid’s Tale” the favorite to earn drama ensemble honors at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, but Moss herself has commanding 1/10 odds in our latest predictions to win the drama actress prize.
Way behind in second place with 25/1 odds is reigning champ Claire Foy (“The Crown”). Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”) and Robin Wright (“House of Cards”) are tied with 50/1 odds, followed by Laura Linney (“Ozark”) with 66/1 odds.
Moss, who produces the Hulu series as well, has already taken home two trophies at the Emmys, Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Drama Series and Best Drama Actress. This would be her first individual SAG. She has two SAGs already as part of the “Mad Men” cast, but lost both of her individual nominations for the show. Four years ago, after winning the Globe for “Top of the Lake,” she lost on the TV movie/limited series side to Helen Mirren (“Phil Spector”).
A SAG triumph would put Moss a Television Critics Association Award shy of winning the top five TV acting awards. She lost the gender-neutral individual drama TCA Award to Carrie Coon (“The Leftovers,” “Fargo”) last summer. If she is nominated again this year and wins, she’d join Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife”), Claire Danes (“Homeland”), Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) and Sarah Paulson (“The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) as the only performers to win all five awards for the same role.
