The Top 5 on “American Idol” had a tough time on May 13 as they had to perform a Carrie Underwood, song in front of this country superstar who reigns as the most successful winner of this reality competition ever. The season four “Idol” champ mentored the five artists — Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodard — still vying for the season 16 title. They flew to Nashville to visit with her and hear her sage advice on how to handle the pressures of competing on “Idol.”
