For yet another week the top four songs remain the same on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, but that doesn’t mean there was no movement among the week’s most popular songs. In particular, there was especially good news for Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Watch the video above to find out where everyone landed in this week’s top-10.
Drake has now spent five weeks on the chart with his new single “God’s Plan,” and all of them have been at number-one. Could it start to wane soon? Actually, it’s just the opposite. “God’s Plan” has actually skyrocketed in its online listens. It was streamed a whopping 101.7 million times, which is the second biggest week ever recorded, behind “Shake” by Baauer (2013).
After Drake’s commanding performance we once again find Ed Sheeran (“Perfect”) at number-two, Bruno Mars and Cardi B (“Finesse”) at number-three, and Camila Cabello and Young Thug (“Havana”) holding on to the number-four spot. But Drake has flanked those artists by moving up into the number-five position too. After debuting last week as a featured artist on BlocBoy JB‘s “Look Alive” they’ve now moved up, which knocks Post Malone and 21 Savage‘s “Rockstar” down one place to number-six.
Lamar also had a great week thanks in no small part to the blockbuster theatrical release of “Black Panther,” for which he wrote the soundtrack. That soundtrack album tops the Billboard 200 albums chart for the second week in a row this week, which helped Lamar chart two singles in the top-10. “All the Stars” with SZA climbs two spots to number-seven, a new peak position. And “Pray for Me” with The Weeknd re-enters the top-10 in 9th place.
What do you think of the rest of this week’s top-10 singles? With its blockbuster streaming success, is “God’s Plan” going anywhere soon?
