Billboard Hot 100: Drake (‘God’s Plan’) fights off ‘Psycho’ Post Malone to spend 6th week in the number-one spot

It has been impossible to unseat Drake from the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart since he debuted at number-one six weeks ago with “God’s Plan.” The song continues to perform extraordinarily well, especially in online streams, which have helped him fend off a new debut single by fellow rapper Post Malone, who has to settle for number-two. Watch the video above for more of this week’s best performing songs.

“God’s Plan” was streamed more than 92 million times, which is the fourth most streams for any song in a single week. And that’s actually down from last week when it had 101 million streams, which was the second biggest week in history. In fact, each of the six weeks on the Billboard charts for “God’s Plan” are among the top nine biggest streaming weeks of all time. Can any song hope to overtake it anytime soon?

Post Malone certainly stands a chance. He has been a fixture in the top-10 for months thanks to his single “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage, which spent eight weeks in the top spot. That song has been on the wane, dipping two spots this week to number-eight, but he’s got a new song that more than makes up for that loss. He has gone “Psycho” with the help of featured artist Ty Dolla $ign, and they have debuted in second place. That’s the same spot “Rockstar” debuted in 2017 before eventually ascending to number-one, and it’s the best ever chart performance for Ty Dolla $ign.

“Psycho” was no match for “God’s” streaming numbers, but it did come out on top in digital sales, so it will be interesting to see where the two chart rivals stack up against each other in the coming weeks.
