The third live eviction on “Celebrity Big Brother” is set for Friday (Feb. 16). At the end of the Valentine’s Day episode, beauty queen Ariadna Gutierrez, who is the third Head of Household, announced that the two nominees for eviction were her one-time ally Shannon Elizabeth and singer James Maslow. But in the intervening days, there has been a Power of Veto competition. Did the results of that change the line-up of the eviction nominees. Spoilers ahead.
Indeed, it did.
Maslow won the Black Box challenge over fellow eviction nominee Elizabeth, HoH Guiterrez and three of the other remaining nine houseguests: “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Granville, TV personality Ross Mathews, who was the second HoH, and “The Apprentice” alumni Omarosa.
Malsow had avoided eviction in the first live vote when the houseguests ejected UFC mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell. At Thursday’s Power of Veto ceremony, he decided to take himself out of the running for eviction on Friday. He nominated one of the other men — singer Mark McGrath — who will now face Elizabeth in the live vote overseen by host Julie Chen. Maslow left NBA all-star Metta World Peace sitting on the bench. Are we (and he) underestimating this one-time LA Laker great?
Maslow is proving to be an adept player and that has Mathew and his allies (Granville, Guitterez and actress Marissa Janet Winokur) worried. They still expect their original target, Elizabeth, to get the boot on Friday and are planning their next move. Should they try and take out Maslow or move against Omarosa.
