‘Celebrity Big Brother’ spoiler: Round 5 Head of Household is …

At the end of the Feb. 19 episode of “Celebrity Big Brother,” host Julie Chen presided over the eviction vote that saw the rest of the houseguests grant the wish of NBA all-star Metta World Peace and send him packing. He was a last-minute substitute for TV personality Ross Mathews, who had won the VIP Power of Veto. Mathews chose to use it just once, to save himself from eviction. The end result meant that the other eviction nominee, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Star” Brandi Granville, was able to take part in the Round 5 Head of Household competition. We watched that play out on the live feeds and can reveal its game-changing outcome. Spoilers ahead.

As the outgoing HOH, “The Apprentice” star Omarosa was not eligible to compete alongside the other six remaining houseguests. This meant Granville and Mathews were vying for the title as were singers James Maslow and Mark McGrath, actress Marissa Janet Winokur and beauty queen Ariadna Gutierrez, who had been the third HoH. The winner was McGrath.

What does this mean for the game going forward?

McGrath and Maslow have clearly bonded and are plotting a strategy that should take them to the final four.  Not surprisingly, Maslow has targeted Omarosa for the next eviction vote. However, McGrath has made a deal with her and he is wary that she will win the Power of Veto, thereby throwing their plan into disarray.

To that end, they are considering breaking up one of the other pairs of players — Mathews and Winokur or Granville and Gutierrez. The two men consider the former duo as more malleable. To that end, they are likely to nominate both of the women in the latter pairing, with Granville the main target.

We should know McGrath’s decision at some point on Tuesday (Feb. 20), so stay tuned. The next episode of “CBB” airs on Wednesday (Feb. 21), with the double eviction set for Friday (Feb. 23).
