Drake spent 11 straight weeks at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with “God’s Plan,” but he has finally been dethroned after almost three months on top … He was replaced by an artist named Drake. Indeed, the only artist who could overtake Drake was himself. He debuted in the top spot with his new song “Nice for What.” “God’s Plan” drops to number-two, and Drake even holds on to the number-five spot as a featured artist on Blocboy JB‘s “Look Alive.” Find out who else made the top-10 in the video above, and at the bottom of this post watch Drake’s “Nice” new video, which features appearances by Olivia Wilde, Tracee Ellis Ross, Zoe Saldana, Rashida Jones, Letitia Wright and many more noteworthy actresses.
“Nice for What” is the fifth number-one single of Drake’s career, following “What’s My Name?” (with Rihanna), “Work” (also with Rihanna), “One Dance” (featuring Wizkid and Kyla) and “God’s Plan.” Both “God’s Plan” and “Nice for What” debuted in the top spot, which makes Drake only the fourth artist to achieve that feat multiple times: Mariah Carey debuted at number-one three times, while Justin Bieber and Britney Spears did it twice. Drake is also only the 13th artist to replace himself at number-one. And he’s one of only four artists ever to have three or more songs in the top-five at the same time, joining The Beatles, 50 Cent and Bieber.
But there was another debut single in the top 10. Powered by the chart-topping debut of her album “Invasion of Privacy,” Cardi B enters at number-eight with “I Like It,” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. It’s her fifth top-10 hit. That debut helped her chart a whopping 13 singles on the Hot 100, more than any other female artist has ever had at one time. She’s making money moves indeed.
