Wednesday night on “The Voice,” country singer Jackie Verna represented Team Adam Levine during the third live playoff episode of Season 14. Jackie’s performance of Maren Morris‘ “Once” earned her a spot in next week’s Top 12 thanks to being Adam’s one and only coach pick. She now joins Adam’s other two team members that made the finals: Rayshun LaMarr and Sharane Calister. Are YOU happy that Jackie advanced to the next round? Watch “The Voice” performance video above.
“I’m beaming with pride,” Adam readily admitted after Jackie’s powerhouse vocals. “Once again, you’re one of those people that everybody underestimated and I said, ‘Watch out for this girl.’ It’s funny to call you ‘beastly,’ but that’s what you are.”
Adam continued on, “There is no one in this competition right now that can really carry those big, sustained, beautiful, perfect, pristine, crystal notes like you. I think that you are one in a billion and I think that you are just fantastic.” Since America didn’t vote Jackie through to the next round, Adam made the ultimate decision to save her.
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger Denton Davidson declared, “Jackie flew under the radar throughout most of the season but I have found her refreshing to watch this week. She has a classic, delicate country voice but is powering her way through this number. I preferred her Monday night performance, but if she is able to advance I think she could grow tremendously as the season progresses.”
