Jennifer Lawrence movies ranked: How will ‘Red Sparrow’ compare to ‘Hunger Games’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’?

Jennifer Lawrence‘s latest film “Red Sparrow” opens March 2 in the United States and tells the story of a Russian spy (Lawrence) who falls in love with a CIA agent (Joel Edgerton) and then debates whether or not to become a double agent. The film has a 61% at Rotten Tomatoes and a 56 at Metacritic, suggesting critics may not love it as much as some of Lawrence’s other projects. Where will “Red Sparrow” eventually fall on the list of Lawrence’s greatest films? Only time will tell. Many movie buffs consider “Silver Linings Playbook” (2012) to be Lawrence’s greatest role so far. After all, her performance as Tiffany won her the Oscar for Best Actress. Following that triumph the superstar appeared in several blockbusters and critically acclaimed films, including Darren Aronofsky‘s “Mother!” (2017), which inexplicably earned her a Razzie nomination.

Throughout her career Lawrence has scored three additional Oscar nominations for “Winter’s Bone” (2010), “American Hustle” (2013) and “Joy” (2015) — not too shabby for someone that’s still under the age of 30. She’s also taken home three Golden Globes for “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle” and “Joy.”

Despite all of her awards success, some fans will always remember Lawrence as archer Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” series. The original movie became an instant blockbuster when it was released in 2012 and was soon followed up by three sequels: “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (2013), “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” (2014) and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” (2015).
