Will Helen Castillo be eliminated from “Project Runway All Stars” in episode six? That’s what the “Runway” fans we’ve polled are predicting. This is actually the second week in a row our users have forecast her downfall, but she advanced safely through episode five, “Fashion’s New Superheroes,” despite getting on the judges’ — and her fellow contestants’ — bad side the week before in “Balls Out.” If her luck does run out in tonight’s episode she’ll be the sixth woman in a row to get her walking papers.
As of this writing Castillo leads our predictions with odds of 5/4, which translates to a 44.25% chance of elimination. In addition to her low score and controversial behavior in “Balls Out,” she also had a low score in the first episode when her team of “All Stars” veterans lost the season-opening team challenge. As yet she hasn’t gotten a single high score from the judges, but it only takes one challenge to turn things around. Just look at Stanley Hudson: a few weeks ago he was tipped for elimination by our racetrack odds after getting a low score in episode two, “Damsels in Distress,” but then he won the unconventional challenge in “Balls Out” two weeks later.
If Castillo survives again this week, the next in line for elimination according to our predictions is Merline Labissiere with 9/1 odds, or a 9.6% chance of elimination. She’s also received low scores twice from the judges. In fact, she barely survived last week’s “Superheroes” challenge. She landed in the bottom two, but the judges decided to send home Amanda Valentine instead.
Ranked third in our predictions is Joshua McKinley with 10/1 odds, or a 9.07% chance of elimination. Despite his bold, often risque aesthetic he has managed to fly under the radar all season so far: he’s the only contestant left without a single high score or low score from the judges in a design challenge. He has been safe every week so far, but if they finally single him out he’d better hope it’s for adulation and not elimination.
