‘Project Runway All Stars’: Stanley Hudson leaps ahead of Anthony Williams in our season 6 winner predictions

Stanley Hudson barely escaped elimination in episode 10 of “Project Runway All Stars,” “Rock Your Face Off,” but despite that rough design challenge he has leaped ahead in our predictions for who will win season six of the design competition series. Going into episode 11 he’s the new front-runner to win. Do you agree that he’ll take the title?

“Rock Your Face Off” pitted the designers against each other head-to-head  to create looks for on-stage musical performances. Hudson had won three previous challenges, so he seemed like he had the advantage when putting together a rock design against Edmond Newton, who hadn’t won any. But the judges thought Newton captured rock glam while Hudson’s look was too conservative and underwhelming. Luckily for Hudson, the judges liked Helen Castillo‘s country design even less, so she was eliminated instead.

Nevertheless, Hudson has moved ahead in our predictions with leading odds of 13/8. It doesn’t hurt that he has won more design challenges than anyone else this season, and there isn’t a single competitor who hasn’t gotten a low score from the judges at least once, so having a bad week is hardly a deal-breaker.

Hudson’s ascent pushes our previous front-runner to win the competition, Anthony Williams, down to second place with odds of 5/2. He also got a low score in “Rock Your Face Off,” though the judges liked his pop look a lot more than Hudson’s rock design. Overall he has won two design challenges, just one shy of Hudson. But “Rock” was his second low-scoring challenge in the last three weeks, so perhaps his creative inspiration is on the wane after spending most of the season as the judges’ pet.

Meanwhile, Fabio Costa trails in third place in our predictions with 5/1 odds even though he has won two challenges and received fewer low scores from the judges than any other designer remaining. He has only been in the bottom-three once.

What do you think? Does Hudson really have the edge now that the show is down to the final five?
