Monday night on “The Voice,” country singer Pryor Baird represented Team Blake Shelton during the live Top 11 episode of Season 14. America’s song choice for Pryor was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band‘s “Night Moves,” which caused Blake to realize for the first time just how similar Pryor’s voice sounds to Bob Seger’s. “I felt it,” admitted Blake after Pryor’s powerful performance. “I felt the softer side of Pryor. I’m telling you, man, you have so much momentum building right now on this show. It’s undeniable. Week after week it’s bigger, it’s a higher ranking on iTunes, there’s more fans involved. And that sets you over top even from there, man. Congratulations, dude.”
Pryor’s other performances on “The Voice” so far have included “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” “Don’t Do Me Like That,” “Will It Go Round in Circles,” “I Was Wrong,” “9 to 5” and “Pickin’ Wildflowers.” How does “Night Moves” stack up to his other songs? Let us know down in the comments section.
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty noted, “Center stage with his guitar, Pryor gave a pretty classic rock ballad performance with an effortless only pros have. The highlight was the break in the song midway through where he hit some strong, smooth notes with only a faint background by the band. This could be a series-defining performance for him.”
