“Roseanne” returns to ABC on March 27 in its traditional Tuesday timeslot. The alphabet network just released the opening credits for this reboot of its top-rated comedy of the 1980s. As with the original opening, this one features the cast gathering around the kitchen table of the Conner household. And it ends with that traditional cackle from show creator and star Roseanne.
We knew that the two actresses to play eldest daughter Becky — role originator Lecy Goranson and replacement Sarah Chalke — were both going to be featured in this revival. The opening credits confirm that it will be Goranson to step back into the part while Chalke is to play a new character, Andrea. The women will have a connection as Andrea hires Becky to be a surrogate.
Goranson was replaced by Chalke in season six when she decided to take a break from the show to go to college. However, she was brought back in season eight and audiences got used to seeing two Becksys as both actresses played the part. Goranson left the cast again for the final season.
