‘Survivor: Ghost Island’ elimination predictions: Fan fave Donathan Hurley will be voted out after dreaded tribe switch

According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, 26-year-old Kimper, Kentucky native Donathan Hurley will be voted out of “Survivor: Ghost Island” after the dreaded tribe switch occurs in Wednesday’s episode. Originally part of the Malolo tribe, this fan favorite avoided the first tribal council when his teammates decided to oust Stephanie Gonzalez. In the second hour of last week’s premiere, superfan Jacob Derwin was sent packing after Donathan was sent to Ghost Island. Do you agree with our odds that Donathan will be voted out in Season 36, Episode 3? Sound off down in the comments section.

Donathan became an instant fan favorite due to his innocent nature and willingness to go outside of his comfort zone. As a small-town Kentucky resident, he admitted in the first episode that he doesn’t know many other gay people and that he’s never really met any people of color. At the immunity challenge when James Lim was struggling with diving underwater, Donathan surprised everyone — including himself — by diving down and completing that portion of the obstacle.

Should Donathan survive Wednesday’s episode, titled “Only Time Will Tell,” despite his leading 11/5 odds, we predict that Desiree Afuye (4/1 odds), Chelsea Townsend (6/1 odds), Chris Noble (10/1 odds) or Morgan Ricke (14/1 odds) will be eliminated instead. See more “Survivor” odds and rankings.

For the landmark 36th season of CBS’s granddaddy of all reality TV shows, the name of the game is fear. A new wrinkle in the game, Ghost Island, haunts players with the mistakes of former castaways. Jacob was the first person sent to Ghost Island, where he was introduced to Sierra and Sara’s legacy advantage from “Survivor: Game Changers.” He decided to will the advantage to Morgan, but when he let Stephanie Johnson in on the secret, she promptly voted him out.
