Who was voted on in Wednesday’s fifth episode of CBS’s “Survivor: Ghost Island”? Prior to the episode airing, Gold Derby’s exclusive odds predicted that Naviti’s Chris Noble would be eliminated following his ever-growing feud with tribe mate Domenick Abbate. Over on the Malolo tribe, Bradley Kleihege had the best odds to be sent packing after he was called out in last week’s episode for being the domineering leader of his group. Did our “Survivor” predictions pan out this week?

7:59 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” During last week’s fourth episode, Brendan Shapiro was eliminated despite his old Malolo tribe members trying to turn the tables on Naviti leader Bradley. Only 16 players remain in the game, and the tribes are now even at eight members apiece. Tonight, who will be sent to Ghost Island and who will be the fifth person eliminated? Let’s find out!

8:01 p.m. – Following last week’s tribal council, Bradley feels a little shaken by the fact that he almost was sent home had Michael Yerger‘s idol been played correctly. He didn’t go home though and in the process learned a new facet of Michael’s ability to play the game hard, something he hadn’t previously considered that seriously. Michael on the other hand is humbled by coming up short with his misuse of the idol and knowing that he has a target on his back now.

8:04 p.m. – Jumping quickly into this week’s reward challenge–the tribes will work through a series of tasks that leads them to a hoard of sandbags which they’ll use to throw at targets and first to hit the targets wins. What’s the challenge worth? Coffee and a platter of pastries, as well as the opportunity to send a member of the losing tribe to ghost island.

8:06 p.m. – Michael on Malolo is the first to drop his tribe’s sandbags, but Naviti is right behind them and eventually passes them up in the next stage. On the last stage, Chris hits Naviti’s first target very quickly and stays on fire long enough to get their second target set before Malolo has even handled their first. And just like that, Chris completely destroys the final stage and wins reward for Naviti!

8:08 p.m. – Faced with the decision to send someone from Malolo to ghost island, Naviti can’t reach a decision unanimously and lets the rocks decide. In the game of chance, Stephanie Johnson pulls the white rock and is sent off on her own for the first time.

8:13 p.m. – Arriving at ghost island, Stephanie feels like she is on the bottom of her new Malolo tribe and being apart from them for an entire day worries her. Like the others before her though, she chooses a scroll for the chance for an advantage, but unfortunately her scroll told her that there is no game for her today.

8:15 p.m. – Because of the challenge, James Lim now sees Chris as a huge advantage for their tribe and feels like his willingness to work with the original Malolo members means it might make sense to keep him around longer and potentially add him to their alliance against the original Naviti members. Later in an aside together, Chris bonds with Donathan Hurley who he saw was having a hard time over their relationships back home. This new step forward with Chris puts Donathan in a potentially fence-riding position between Chris and James alliance against his closest buddy Laurel Johnson who wants to work with original Naviti members Wendell Holland and Domenick to vote Chris out.

8:22 p.m. – To win immunity this week, the tribes will race using boogie boards in the water attached to cranks on the beach requiring tribes to reel their teammates in quicker than the other tribe. Chelsea Townsend, a player that has seen very little screen time so far this season, is first out for Malolo, but Wendell on Naviti zooms ahead of her for an early lead. Luckily for Malolo, Libby Vincek, second for Naviti struggles and blows the lead they had until Desiree Afuye fumbles and gives the lead back up.

8:27 p.m. – On the third pairing, Wendell and Chelsea are back out there together and Wendell reclaims their long lead, returning the beach quickly and setting James up to start the combination lock puzzle with a huge time advantage. With Domenick, James figures out that first puzzle and moves on to the next puzzle only a short time before Bradley and Kellyn Bechtold even it back up for Malolo.

8:30 p.m. – Despite Malolo’s multiple comebacks, Naviti is able to finish the final puzzle quicker and earns immunity once again! Immediately Kellyn takes responsibility for the loss, but as an original Malolo member she’s in the majority alliance, anticipating that barring any last minute twists of strategy, one of Michael, Stephanie or Jenna Bowman is likely going home.

8:36 p.m. – Facing an uphill battle going into tribal, Jenna knows that she goes home or she turns the table on one of the players in her own alliance instead. Her strategy is to flirt with Sebastian Noel who is more than keen to try to save her from the vote just to keep her around. Elsewhere, Stephanie forges an alliance with Bradley and vows to want to work with him going forward and he says he’d be willing to do that. The bonds the two guys built with the two girls leads them to consider Michael as the best option to vote out, but the concern is that they’ll need his strength in future challenges.

8:48 p.m. – At tribal, discussion makes it clear that yes it’s one of the three original Malolo members that will be voted out by the original Naviti members tonight, but as Kellyn points out the group swayed back and forth between which of the three to eliminate. Some of the key discussion points that came up were whether or not Stephanie found an advantage on ghost island, how useful Michael can potentially be in future challenges and whether Michael is too strategic to allow to go any further.

8:54 p.m. – With no idol to play in anyone’s possession, Jeff reads the votes: Desiree, Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie… and that’s enough. So it looks like Jenna and Michael were both clued in to the vote against Stephanie and voted with the big alliance. Is this signs of the tribe’s willingness to split and work with them in the future? We’ll see!
