‘Survivor: Ghost Island’ winner predictions: Laurel Johnson jumps to the lead after learning about Domenick Abbate’s idol

Based on Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions, Laurel Johnson is the new pick to win “Survivor: Ghost Island” following last week’s episode in which she learned about Domenick Abbate‘s hidden immunity idol. Domenick had previously told Laurel about his fake idol, but now she’s one of the few people (along with Wendell Holland) who knows that he also has a real idol.

Might Laurel, Domenick and Wendell become a powerful threesome going forward? Or will she turn around and use this information against him? Be sure to give us YOUR “Survivor” picks before Wednesday’s all-new episode, titled “A Diamond In The Rough.”

Laurel tops our winner’s chart for “Survivor” Season 36, Episode 5 with leading 9/5 odds, ahead of her closest competitor Wendell with 4/1 odds. Rounding out the Top 5 are Stephanie Johnson (11/2 odds), Kellyn Bechtold (9/1 odds) and Michael Yerger (11/1 odds). Stephanie was our predicted winner last week at this time, but she is clearly outnumbered on her newly mixed Malolo tribe. Following the ouster of Brendan Shapiro, she is now at a 3-5 disadvantage.

“I’m a ‘Survivor’ superfan, I’ve been watching since Day 1,” Laurel said in her CBS introductory video. This 29-year old Minneapolis, MN resident admitted that she was “pumped” to be on the island after 17 years of watching it on TV. “I want to be the queen! I want to come out here, I want to make the big moves, I want to be a strategic force. I want to be someone that’s remembered for playing an awesome, ballsy game.”
