‘The Bachelor’: Who’s your favorite suitor from all 22 seasons? Arie Luyendyk, Nick Viall, Ben Higgins … [POLL]

After much anticipation, Season 22 of “The Bachelor” has finally premiered on ABC, with real estate agent/race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. serving as this cycle’s suitor. Now that you’ve seen Arie in action, we want to know how YOU think he compares to all of the men who’ve come before him. Is Arie your all-time favorite, or does another bachelor still have your heart after all these years? Be sure to vote in our poll below. Arie is no stranger to the reality TV franchise, as he was the runner-up back in Season 8 of “The Bachelorette” starring Emily Maynard. On Monday’s season premiere he eliminated eight potential wives, cutting the field from 29 down to 21. Real estate executive assistant Chelsea Roy received Arie’s first impression rose, so she clearly has a leg up on the competition so far. But it’s still early in the competition, so anything can — and likely will — happen.

The down side of “The Bachelor” is that after 21 seasons, the show has only been responsible for two marriages, with most relationships only lasting a few months. Jason Mesnick (Season 13) infamously married runner-up Molly Malaney on March 8, 2010 on television, while Sean Lowe (Season 17) wed Catherine Giudici on January 26, 2014. Both couples are still married today.

Other recent “Bachelors” include a pair of software salesmen (Nick Viall and Ben Higgins), a farmer (Chris Soules), a soccer player (Juan Pablo Galavis), a football player (Sean Lowe), and a winemaker (Ben Flajnik).

Among some of the most famous “Bachelor” stars, Charlie O’Connell (Season 7) was chosen because of his actor brother Jerry O’Connell. And Jesse Palmer (Season 5) was an NFL quarterback who came under criticism for appearing on the reality show.
