Tuesday night on “The Voice,” 22-year-old Jackie Verna sang Kelsea Ballerini‘s “Peter Pan” during the final episode of the Season 14 blind auditions. The West Chester, Pennsylvania resident is a country-pop artist who recently suffered short-term memory loss after a car accident. Only one coach — Adam Levine — turned their chair around for Jackie, so she became the final member of Team Adam by default. Can Jackie make it all the way to the Season 14 live shows? “That is the best country singing I’ve heard, and I don’t care what any of those guys say,” Adam praised after finding out that he was the only coach to turn around for Jackie. “I’ve never been more excited about a one-chair turn in my life. I am so beyond stunned right now.” Both Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys had already filled their teams, while Kelly Clarkson decided not to turn her chair because she was looking for “this one thing in particular.”
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger Denton Davidson declared, “[Jackie] is singing ‘Peter Pan’ and has a delicate, angelic voice that would be a dream for country radio. Adam almost instantly turned around while Kelly let it marinate and surprisingly refused to turn around! Adam screamed ‘Oh My God!’ and could not believe his luck. Team Adam is full!”
