The knockout round of “The Voice” kicks off on April 2. At the end of the just-concluded four episodes devoted to the battle round, each of the coaches — Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — has eight artists on their team (six of their own plus two steals). They now have to pit these players against each other in knockout matches, with four winners apiece.
We have done some digging and learned that one of Levine’s four pairings will pit Mia Boostrom against Jackie Foster. Watch the sneak peek of their showdown on Monday (April 2) at the top of this post. Boostrom soars as she sings the spiritual “Wade in the Water” while Foster rocks out to Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life.”
We first saw Boostrom — who hails from Boston, Massachusetts — on the third blind audition episode, which aired on March 5. Back then, this 24-year-old won over Levine with her rendition of “Pillowtalk” by Zayn Malik. She went on to win her March 26 battle with Genesis Diaz when they did a duet of the Kelly Clarkson hit “Because of You.”
Foster, who is also from Boston, had both Clarkson and Keys hitting their buttons when she sang the Pink tune “What About Us” on that same audition episode. She went with Clarkson, who then chose D.R. King over her when they did battle on March 19 with the Harry Styles hit “Sign of the Times.” Levine used one of his two steals to grab her for his team.
