‘The Voice’ blind auditions: Brynn Cartelli sings ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ and inspires new coach Kelly Clarkson to turn

On the season 14 premiere of “The Voice,” teen singing sensation Brynn Cartelli inspired new coach Kelly Clarkson to turn her chair as she sang Labrinth’s “Beneath Your Beautiful.” The 14-year-old from Longmeadow, MA had tried out last season but didn’t get any coaches to hit their button. This time around, the self-professed Clarkson fan connected with her favorite. Not surprisingly, she went with this one-time “American Idol” over Blake Shelton.

Did Cartelli make a mistake when she decided to be coached by Clarkson? After all, Shelton has coached six contestants to victory on “The Voice.”  Watch her “The Voice” blind audition performance video above and let us know what you think of her chances in the comments section below.

In his live recap of “The Voice” season 14 premiere, Denton Davidson noted, “What a beautiful tone. Certain aspects of it actually resemble Kelly, who was the first coach to turn her chair. At the last second, Blake posed a challenge. Brynn has a pretty voice, but it’s not too powerful. Kelly claims she could win with her. I disagree, but we can never predict anyone’s journey on this series. After the two coaches hashed it out, Brynn made history by becoming the first-ever member of Team Kelly!”
