Many familiar Broadway veterans - some previous champs and some looking for their first trophy - will face off against quite a few newcomers this year. Acting contenders can appear in either new plays and musicals or revivals of rialto fare. Forty productions are slated for this season which runs from last May to the last week of April. Nominations will be announced April 30 with the Tony Awards handed out on June 9.
