Background: Hammer was born in Los Angeles, the son of Michael Armand Hammer, who owns several businesses, and the grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer. He spent parts of his childhood living in Dallas, the Cayman Islands, and then back in Los Angeles. He attended UCLA, but he dropped out to pursue an acting career.
Filmography: He made guest appearances on the TV series "Arrested Development," "Veronica Mars," and "Desperate Housewives" before playing recurring roles on "Gossip Girl" and "Reaper." His breakthrough film performance came in 2010, when he played Harvard twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss in David Fincher's "The Social Network." This year he appears in "J. Edgar" opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, and future projects include "The Lone Ranger" and an adaptation of "Snow White."
