Background: Zeitlin was raised in the Sunnyside section of Queens, New York. He attended Wesleyan University and helped found the Court 13 independent filmmaking collective in 2004.
Filmography: He directed three short films between 2005 and 2008. His feature directing debut is "Beasts of the Southern Wild" (2012) which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
