Background: Duchovny is an American actor, producer, writer, and director who was born in New York City. He graduated from Princeton University in 1982 and then received a Master of Arts in English Literature from Yale University.

Filmography: After appearing in a beer commercial in 1987 he immediately started receiving film roles in "Working Girl" and "Chaplin." He also appeared in television roles on "Twin Pearks" and "Red Show Diaries" before receiving his iconic role of FBI Agent Fox Mulder on the long-running Fox series "The X Files." Other roles in his career have included the films "Kalifornia," "Full Frontal," "Return to Me," "Zoolander," "House of D," and "Things We Lost in the Fire." Other TV roles have included "The Simpsons," "Sex and the City," "Life with Bonnie," and the current Showtime series "Californication."
