Background: Helms is an American actor and comedian who was born in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Oberlin College with a degree in film theory and technology in 1996, he spent a semester as an exchange student in New York City at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Filmography: While performing in comedy clubs, he auditioned to become a correspondent on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." After appearing on that show from 2002 through 2006, he joined the NBC comedy series "The Office" and has remained with that show since then. He has also appeared in the films "Cedar Rapids," "The Hangover," "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," "Meet Dave," "Evan Almighty," "Semi-Pro," and "The Hangover, Part II."
