Background: Wood is an American actor who was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After modeling and some school productions in his home town, Wood and his family moved to Los Angeles when he was just seven years old.
Filmography: In 1988, he immediately started getting professional jobs including a small part in the Paula Abdul music video "Forever Your Girl." He followed with roles in the TV movie "Child in the Night" and "Back to the Future Part II." His first major role was in the 1990 Barry Levinson film "Avalon". His film career since then has included "Paradise," "Forever Young," "Radio Flyer," "The Adventures of Huck Finn," "The Good Son," "The War," "North," "Flipper," "The Ice Storm," "Deep Impact," "The Faculty," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "Sin City," "Everything is Illuminated," "Bobby," "Happy Feet," and "The Oxford Murders." His most famous role was as Frodo Baggins in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy of films that were released 2001-2003. He is now starring on the FX comedy series "Wilfred."
