Background: Rossum is an American actress and singer who was born in New York City. She started performing at age seven with the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus. By age 12, she was taking acting classes at the New Actors Workshop.
Filmography: She had a recurring role at age 13 on the soap opera "As the World Turns" and several guest appearances on TV programs. In 2000, she played a young Audrey Heburn in the TV movie "The Audrey Hepburn Story." Since then, her films have included "Songcatcher," "Mystic River," "The Day After Tomorrow," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Poseidon," "Dare," and "Inside." She now stars on the Showtime drama series "Shameless."
