DOB: October 18, 1984
Background: Spandling grew up in Portland, Oregon. She is of African-American, Welsh, Native American, and Hispanic descent. She taught herself to play the violin by age five and spent ten years as a child with the Chamber Music Society of Oregon. She also played oboe and clarinet before discovering the bass.
Discography: She released "Junjo" (2006) and "Esperanza" (2008) before making her breakthrough with "Chamber Music Society" (2010), for which she won a Grammy for Best New Artist. "Radio Music Society" was released in March 2012.
