Background: Hedlund was born in Minnesota, the youngest of three children. When he was fourteen he moved to Arizona with his mother and was signed by a talent agent at a talent scouting convention. After graduating high school in 2003, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
Filmography: His first film was the period action epic "Troy" in 2004, followed by the football drama "Friday Night Lights," and the fantasy film "Eragon." In 2010, he had star-making roles in two films: the country-music drama "Country Strong" with Gwyneth Paltrow and the sci-fi sequel "Tron: Legacy" with Jeff Bridges. This year he appears in a film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's iconic Beat-generation novel "On the Road."
