Background: Anderson is an American actress who was born in Chicago, Illinois. She began acting in high school and attended the Theatre School at DePaul University. She then moved to New York City in 1988 to pursue an acting career.

Filmography: After a few on-stage productions, she had a guest role on the Fox series "Class of 96" which led to her audition for their new series "The X Files." She spent nine seasons on the science fiction drama series as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully. Other roles have included "The Mighty," "The House of Mirth," "Bleak House," "The Last King of Scotland," "Any Human Heart," and "Moby Dick."
