Background: Pearce is an Australian actor and musician who grew up in Geelong, where his mother ran a deer farm. He was a competitive bodybuilder in his teens and won the title of Junior Mr. Victoria. He attended the Geelong College and was a member of the GSODA Junior Players.
Filmography: After starring in several theatre productions, he was cast on the soap opera "Neighbours" in 1985. Following other TV roles and some small independent films, his major breakthrough came with his role as a drag queen in "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert." Pearce's first big American film role was in "L.A. Confidential," which starred fellow Australian Russell Crowe and was directed by Curtis Hanson. Other films have included "Rules of Engagement," "Memento," "The Count of Monte Cristo," "The Time Machine," "The Hurt Locker," "The Road," "Animal Kingdom," and "The King's Speech." He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2011 for his supporting role in the HBO miniseries "Mildred Pierce," which starred Kate Winslet and was directed by Todd Haynes.
