Background: Hunt was born in Culver City, California, the daughter of director and acting coach Gordon E. Hunt. Her family moved to New York City when she was three, and there Hunt was exposed to theater productions directed by her father. She also studied ballet.

Filmography: Hunt is best known for her four-time Emmy-winning role on NBC's sitcom "Mad About You" and her Oscar-winning performance as a put-upon waitress in "As Good As it Gets." She has also appeared in "Pay it Forward," "Cast Away," "What Women Want," and "Bobby." She made her feature directing debut in 2007 with "Then She Found Me."
