DOB: December 13, 1967
Background: Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop in Terrell, Texas. He was abandoned when he was seven months old and taken in by his mother's adoptive parents. He began taking piano lessons at age 5. When he was a teenager,he was a part-time pianist and choir leader at Terrell's New Hope Baptist Church. He played basketball and football in high school and received a scholarship to United States International University, where he studied music and composition.
Filmography: His early TV work included "In Living Color" and "The Jamie Foxx Show." On film, he has appeared in "Any Given Sunday" (1999), "Ali" (2001), "Ray" (2004), "Collateral" (2004), "Jarhead" (2005), "Dreamgirls" (2006), "The Soloist" (2009), and "Horrible Bosses" (2011). In 2012, he plays the title role in Quentin Tarantino's western "Django Unchained."
