Background: Bateman is an American actor who was born in Rye, New York. As the son of actor Kent Bruce Bateman, he and his sister Justine both started acting as children and had very successful careers on both television and in film.

Filmography: He started his career on "Little House on the Prairie," and then moved on to regular roles on "Silver Spoons," "It's Your Move," "Valerie," and "The Hogan Family." He became the youngest director in the history of the Directors Guild of America at age 18 when he helmed several episodes of "The Hogan Family." He next had major film roles in "Teen Wolf Too," and "The Sweetest Thing" before returning to several other television projects. He then had a three-year Emmy-nominated run on the comedy series "Arrested Development" before returning to a film career including "Dodgeball," "Starsky and Hutch," "The Break-Up," "Smokin' Aces," "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium," "Juno," "Extract," "Couples Retreat," "Up in the Air," "Switch," "The Change Up," and "Horrible Bosses."
