Background: Reitman was born in Montreal, Canada, but moved to Los Angeles with his family when he was a child. His father is "Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman, and when Jason was young he had small acting roles and served as an assistant on his father's films. He was a high jumper in high school, and went on to major in English/Creative Writing at the University of Southern California.
Filmography: Though he was offered the opportunity to direct "Dude, Where's My Car?" he declined, opting instead to make a number of short films before making his feature debut in 2005 with the tobacco industry satire "Thank You for Smoking." In 2007 he had even greater success with the hit comedy "Juno," starring Ellen Page in an Oscar-nominated turn as a pregnant teen.
