Background: Goodman is an American actor who was born in Affton, Missouri. He played football and enjoyed theater work while in high school. After a few years attending Southwest Missouri State University, he moved to New York in 1975 to pursue an acting career.

His most famous role was on the long-running ABC comedy series "Roseanne." Other TV work has included "The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Treme," "You Don't Know Jack," and "Damages."
