DOB: October 26, 1967
Background: Urban was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia. By age six he was already considering a career in music. He was winning singing contests by the time he was eight. He signed with EMI in Australia in 1990 and moved to Nashville in 1992, where he played guitar for Brooks & Dunn before embarking on his own career.
Discography: He formed the Ranch, a music trio that released one album in 1997 before Urban disbanded the group to pursue his solo career. His self-titled debut solo album was released in 1999. His 2002 release "Golden Road" produced the single "Somebody Like You," whose success brought him greater stardom. He followed that success with "Be Here" (2004), "Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing" (2006), "Defying Gravity" (2009), and "Get Closer" (2010).
