Background: Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady Gaga attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 2003 and performed in the rock music scene of New York City's Lower East Side before being signed to Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records.
Discography: Gaga gained fame, appropriately, with her 2008 album "The Fame," which spawned the hit singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face." Her 2009 followup, "The Fame Monster," was similarly successful and yielded another string of hit singles ("Bad Romance," "Telephone," and "Alejandro"). In 2011 she released her highly anticipated third album, "Born This Way," which sold more than a million units in its first week.
