Background: Stowe was born in Los Angeles, California. She originally aspired to be a concert pianist, but quit at age 18 following the death of her music teacher. She studied cinema and journalism at USC and was discovered by an agent at a Beverly Hills theater.

Filmography: After several television appearances throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she appeared in the films "Stakeout" (1987), "The Last of the Mohicans" (1992), "Short Cuts" (1993), "12 Monkeys" (1995), and "We Were Soliders" (2002). She currently stars on the ABC primetime soap "Revenge."
