Background: Rihanna was born and raised in Barbados until the age of 16, when she moved to the United States to pursue a recording career under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers. She then signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for Jay-Z.
Discography: Rihanna's 2005 debut album, "Music of the Sun," entered the top ten and featured the hit single "Pon De Replay." Her 2006 followup, "A Girl Like Me," produced her first number-one single, "SOS," as well as the popular "Unfaithful" and "Break it Off." It was her 2007 release, "Good Girl Gone Bad" that launched her to superstardom, featuring megahits "Umbrella" and "Disturbia." Her fourth album, "Rated R," was released in 2009. Her fifth album, "Loud," released in 2010, has continued her hit-making success. In the short time since her debut, she has had ten number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
