Background: Pattinson began modelling when he was 12 and had small roles in 2004 in the TV movie "Ring of the Nibelungs" and "Vanity Fair," although his scenes in the latter were cut and only appear on the DVD. In May 2005, he was to star in the play "The Woman Before" at the Royal Court Theatre, but was replaced by Tom Riley.
Filmography: In the fall of 2005, he appeared as Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and appeared in the TV movie "The Bad Mother's Handbook" in 2007. That year, he landed the part of the vampire Edward Cullen in the film franchise "Twilight," based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series. The first of these films, "Twilight," was released in the fall of 2008, with the first sequel -- The Twilight Saga: New Moon -- out in the fall of 2009 and the third entry -- "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" -- in theaters in the summer of 2010.
His other films include "Remember Me" (2010) and "Water for Elephants" (2011).
