Background: Rogen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He planned to pursue a career in comedy from an early age and wrote an early draft of his "Superbad" screenplay when he was 13. His parents lost their jobs, so after being cast by Judd Apatow for the series "Freaks and Geeks," he became the family's primary wage earner.

Filmography: He appeared in the series' "Freaks and Geeks" (1999-2000) and "Undeclared" (2001-2002) before appearing in the films "Anchorman" (2004), "The 40 Year Old Virgin" (2005), "Knocked Up" (2007), "Pineapple Express" (2008), "Funny People" (2009), "The Green Hornet" (2011), and "50/50" (2011) He also wrote "Pineapple Express" and "Hornet" in addition to starring. His latest film is Sarah Polley's romantic drama "Take This Waltz" (2012).
