Background: Lautner trained as a martial artist as a child, earning a black belt by the age of eight. He trained under Michael Chaturantabut, a one-time star of "Power Rangers" who first suggested that Lautner become an actor. His career began with bit roles on "The Bernie Mac Show" and "My Wife and Kids."

Filmography: After giving performances in "Cheaper By the Dozen 2" and "The Adventures of Sharboy and Lavagirl in 3D," Lautner got his big break when he was cast as werewolf Jacob Black in the "Twilight" films, adapted from Stephanie Meyer's popular series of young-adult novels. Since being cast in the "Twilight" films, Lautner has appeared in the 2010 romantic comedy "Valentine's Day," and appears this year in the action thriller "Abduction," directed by John Singleton ("Boyz n the Hood").
