DOB: October 18, 1987
Background: Efron was born in San Luis Obispo, California. When he was 11, he was encouraged by his father to pursue acting, after which he appeared in high school theater productions. He was recommended to an agent by his drama teacher and later signed to CAA.
Filmography: After a string of TV guest-starring roles, he made his breakthrough in Disney Channel's "High School Musical" (2006). He appeared in that film's two sequels as well as "Hairspray" (2007), "Me and Orson Welles" (2008), and "17 Again" (2009). In 2012, he appears in "The Paperboy," directed by Lee Daniels ("Precious"), and "Liberal Arts," by Josh Radnor.
