What do the following folks have in common: Patricia Arquette, Kyle Chandler, Michael Chiklis, Jon Cryer, Ricky Gervais, Katherine Heigl, Archie Panjabi, Barry Pepper and James Spader? They all pulled off jawdropping upsets at the Emmys.

Sometimes the surprise was because of who they beat. Sometimes it was because their episode submission was not great, making us wonder if other factors -- buzz, hit films, industry love -- gave them the edge on Emmy night.

Imagine if you had predicted any one of these surprises. Very few Emmy experts did. We know that not every frontrunner will prevail this year. After all, "Picket Fences" trumped the red-hot "NYPD Blue" for Best Drama Series in 1994 while "Everybody Loves Raymond" edged out the first season of "Desperate Housewives" in 2005.

What are some of the possible shockers that might happen this year?

Could "Mad Men" lose Best Drama Series after four straight wins? Is Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") vulnerable in Best Drama Actor despite winning all three of his previous bids. Will someone other than the "Modern Family" quartet of funny fellows take home Best Comedy Supporting Actor? Could "Hatfields and McCoys" pull off an upset for Best TV Movie/Miniseries over frontrunner "Game Change"?

Take a tour of the top 10 potential upsets before you make your Emmy predictions. VIEW GALLERY
