Only two of this year's Oscar nominees for Best Director are also nominated at BAFTA: Michael Haneke ("Amour") and Ang Lee ("Life of Pi").
The BAFTAs have foreseen seven of the 12 Best Director Oscar winners -- Ang Lee ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," 2000), Roman Polanski ("The Pianist," 2002), Ang Lee ("Brokeback Mountain," 2005), Ethan and Joel Coen ("No Country for Old Men," 2007), Danny Boyle ("Slumdog Millionaire," 208), Kathryn Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker," 2009), and Michel Hazanavicius ("The Artist," 2011) -- since these kudos were moved up in 2000 to take place while academy members are still voting.
