Razzies: Worst Supp. Actress - Overview

Most critics did not go after Angela Bassett's supporting turn as a government agent in "Green Lantern." She has never earned Razzie attention before. But if voters were not "Green Lantern" fans, she could ride a wave to her first nomination.

Another former model, Brooklyn Drecker has no real sense of how to act in "Just Go with It." Her vapidity and on-screen clueless make her rather uncomfortable to watch. Her performance is reminiscent of the similarly bad turn from Sienna Miller ("G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra") that won in 2009. If she escapes being nominated, it is not because she did not deserve it.

Ricci plays a thankless role as the title character's girlfriend. Even if she is not particularly awful in "Bucky Larson," she could easily get swept into Worst Supporting Actress by those who truly hated the film. It seems destined to make it into multiple categories.

Julie Walters was nominated for playing Shia LaBeouf's mother in a tiny role in the last "Transformers" movie. That insinuates just how much Razzie voters hate these movies. In the film, McDormand has enough screentime as the Director of National Intelligence to get the Razzies' attention.

Katie Holmes got a Razzie nomination for "Batman Begins" back in 2005. Now that she's a part of the disastrous "Jack and Jill," expect her to make the final ballot.

Jovovich vocally dissed "The Three Musketeers'' distributor for promoting it poorly. The movie bombed even though money had been funneled into an ad campaign. Jovovich's bad attitude might get her punished with a Razzie citation.

Many were frustrated with the lack of chemistry between stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in "Thor." Portman was given very little to do in the film, but resentment over her performances in bad movies like "No Strings Attached" and "Your Highness" from earlier in the year could push her into Worst Supporting Actress.

There is no mistaking that people really, truly hate Nicole Kidman. But she is an absolute delight in "Just Go with It," poking fun at her own cold public persona and plastic surgery. There is also a jab in there that one of her ex-husbands might be gay. What's not to love about this performance? If Razzie  voters did not see the film or just dislike Kidman, she will unfortunately be nominated.

A former underwear model with no previous acting experience before she was cast in one of the biggest blockbusters of all time? Uh oh. Looks like somebody is gunning for a Razzie nomination for their screen debut. Congratulations, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. We may already have a winner.
